Kyaaaa! Nobunaga figure by COOMODEL is finally here!

My friends! Yesterday I received the 1/6 figure of Nobu-sama by COOMODEL!

This time for this purchase I opted for a local proxy, TOYS HEROES, since the difference in price was not that huge and I realized that the guy lived close to me, so I could avoid further shipping fees.
So--! Let's start with our review!

First of all, let's start with the unboxing!

The box design looks quite simple. On the back you can find the various credits and references.

I'm quite intrigued by the "Armour Designer", but I can't ready much of his name... "Eddy..."?

The design is simple, but look at it! The cover of the box can be used as screen for display!!

Above you can find another extra picture that acts as a protection of the contents. Quite expressive!
The author is unknown.

Another pleasant surprise, the instructions to dress the doll, and how to make the various knots!

Here's a first look of the contents! They are on two separate layers, in spongy containers.
I really appreciate the use of sponge rather than plastic, as in classic blisters: this way the contents are extra protected and the various pieces are quite safe during the removal!
--I'll never forget when I broke the kabuto of the DID figure of Nobu because of the box. NEVER.

And here are a few shots of the beautiful Nobunaga!!!!

God Lord... LOOK AT THIS FACE. He's just beautiful!!!

Here I added the kabuto armour, and took care of all the knots following the instructions:

Guys, you have no idea of the beautiful details.
Some parts of the armour are made of metal, too, it's amazing.
On top of it, despite the weight, the figure is perfectly balanced and it can stay on its own feet without the need of a pedestal!

Next, let's take a look at the weapons: it's the usual katana set plus an arquebuse:

Quite awesome! The design of the arquebuse is very simple and quite realistic, it looks like a mini-sample of the real thing!
The detail on the swords is quite stunning too, but they don't look based on real-existing katana as in the DID figure.

Also, a pedestal!!!
Guys you have no idea. That's not such a obvious item to find in a boxed figure.
The base is wooden-like, quite elegant.

And here's how our boy looks with all the weapons on!

Following, a few pictures of the various details!

Aaah-- I'm in love.

This said, a comparison with the DID figure is now a duty:

Now, from a first look you'd say that the COOMODEL figure is way superior, but the DID figure has its own merits, too: the finest decorations on the dou and clothes and a general historical accuracy, including weapons; the extra head, the real hair feature.
The figure of COOMODEL has a hugely better sculpting and colouring, the use of metal, and a more fuctional design: it's better balanced, and the figure can be posed easily. Plus, there's a pedestal, the instructions, and the armour looks like removeable.
I can say that I like both figure though, they are a different interpretation of the same thing released on different decades-- They make a certain impression next to each other.

Aaand, well, that's all for today!
This made me more hopeful about the release of the Nobunaga by ACI Toys... Will I be able to get it within this year?! Let's wait and see!

  1. Does he have all the nice layered garments under his armor, too?
I also think they created because they made his legs so long lol

    1. Yeees! He has cute hakama and a white kimono under the armors! Someday I'll find the courage to strip him and show him in his glory XD
Well, the body types are usually mass-produced and used for other figures. Usually one gets more generic bodies, puts different clothes on it, and just swap heads so to not undress the whole thing, to have alternate versions... Maybe I should do that, too x'D

  2. He looks really cool, btw is the armor laced with fabric or is it really detailed plastic?

    1. Hello!
The most of the armour is made in plastic, plus metal details: for example, the most of the kabuto is made of metal, ad the handle of the sword. Metal is used also for the shoulder protections and its detail, and the legs protection are made of metal too.
      That's truly cool!!

  3. I'm considering to buy Coo model's Nobunaga figure with horse together, but still haven't decided which one to buy between this one and Black cattail version.

    1. This product features only the armoir and the decoration, a la musha ningyo -> http://uesama-dango.blogspot.com/2014/05/musha-ningyo-of-nobunaga.html

I think that the Deluxe version of the figure was what you needed, then -> http://www.coomodel.com/product-684.html

    2. Thank you for good info about ningyo. I know that Black cattail version is based on imagination. But also it's common image when we think about Nobunaga. Did you see the armor of Yoshimoto Imagawa? Nobunaga's armor is almost same with his, only differs in color. I might want to have differeciated Nobunaga's own armor even it's not true.

    3. Oh, sorry, I misunderstood your comment!
      I didn't notice the different armor version, LOL! Sorry ^_^;
I meant that this Cattail version doesn't include the figure, but just the accessories, though!

You're right, Imagawa's armor is pretty much the same as this one, LOL. I can see why you'd want to buy this version-- Anyway, considering the design, did you consider the ACI version? -> https://uesama-dango.blogspot.com/2019/10/review-of-nobunaga-figure-by-aci-toys-d.html
      It's pretty nice.
