Got a "Kirin ga kuru" doujinshi! Sharing a few pics and impressions!

I'm in the process of acquiring the guide books of Kirin ga kuru-- Even if its conclusion pissed me off, it's one of the few drama that I truly enjoyed watching... So I'm periodically checking the Japanese used shops online for some bargains. Last time, besides the second book, I managed to find a cute doujinshi of the drama and decided to buy to check it out. In this post I'll share some random impressions about it∼

"Shinchou Meikan", Official and Updated!

Do you remember the doujinshi catalogue dedicated to all the fictional Nobus out there, starting from 1583 to 2017--? Apparently on November 2019 it was released as an "official guide" by Ohta Books publishing: This was updated with new Nobus (of course!) reaching 703 characters and covering 585 works, and included some "mini-columns" exploring the various representations, influences of pop culture on the historical image, the contributions of history buffs and so on-- You can check a preview of its contents here, on the website of the publisher.

Happy Birthday, Nobunaga-sama! 100 Questions for the Fans of Oda Nobunaga∼

Wohooo, I think this is the first time I managed to celebrate Nobunaga's "Official" birthday on this blog of mine--!
I decided to dust off this very old "100 Questions for the Fan of lord Nobunaga" thing. I first compiled it back in 2014, so here I am, 7 years later seeing how things changed (not much, to be honest, ahah)! As usual, I encourage you to reply to this too! This humble one presents you a Nobu with a kitty!

--Sorry so much for the lack of updates guys, but I've been preoccupied with other fandom things-- Here's a Nobu with a kitty to compensate! The source is the usual Twitter account of the Nagoya Bushotai! They are promoting a "birthday event" for Nobunaga through the hashtag #織田信長公生誕祭2021, celebrating starting May 12 to June 23 ^^ ! That's quite the brilliant idea, ahah!

This said, please look forward to upcoming contributions, I have so many dramas to review yet (Kirin ga kuru and OKEHAZAMA are still my priorities!) and other pop-culture bits to share∼! Trust me∼!

Happy New Year in Nobunaga style!

Today marks the beginning of the Chinese New Year, dedicated to the Dog, so, no, I'm not late on updating this blog or anything! I was waiting on purpose!
Since the festivity, I wanna share this awesome postcard sent to me by my friend Livia to celebrate adequately the upcoming 2018!

Three Nobunaga in Eight Years!

This month the Nagoya Omotenashi Busho-tai celebrated 8 years of activity.
The PR group was formed on November 3, 2009 to celebrate the 400 years since the foundation of Nagoya City.
"8" is a lucky number in Japanese tradition, as its kanji, "八", moves upwards and is open at the bottom, signifying a never-ending growth.
For this reason the maruhachi (The kanji for eight with a circle around) is also the official symbol of Nagoya city, adopted on March 1907: it was originally used by the Tokugawa clan of Owari as its family seal.

During the eight years of glamorours activity and promotion, though, three Nobunagas changed on the stage of Nagoya castle.

Kaiju vs Demon Lord of the Sixth Heaven

Too bad that this summer we were too busy melting due the extra heat, otherwise we would have checked that special event during the Godzilla Exhibition in Nagoya featuring Nobunaga!
The pretext was the exhibition Godzilla at the Museum, hosted at the Nagoya City Museum from July 15 to September 3.
Nobunaga from the Nagoya Busho-tai had the chance to meet fans and pose with them for extra fun pictures on August 18. Isn't our favourite warlord quite "territorial"?!

Oda Nobunaga Tour 2017

It took me almost a month, but I'm finally done with the reports of my last trip to Japan :)

The last days were dedicated to my third Nobunaga Tour, and finally I posted the articles online on my personal website :)

Weaving a Story

So, I'm in the process of moving rooms, so I'm taking my time to check out all the stuff that keeps coming out of my armoir (mostly 'cause I'm throwing away the most of it 😀 )... As I'm a compulsive t-shirts buyer, I couldn't help paying a moment to the souvenir t-shirts bought during my trips to Japan and dedicated to Nobunaga.
I call them "the Tenka Fubu Bunch", as all of them feature the famous motto, no matter where I bought them XD
Obviously they all come with a story to tell, and a fond memory of my travels...

A curious find--

This is pretty much a post of "historical yak", along the lines of the one about the traces of Nobunaga's presence in Rome, but also connected to my investigation about Nobunaga's "Western Armour" of time ago... In the sense that it's something that should be taken lightly, but still intriguing as it throws an unexpected ingredient in the soup.

Well, on May I toured some bits of Northern Italy, among which were the Isole Borromee.
During the visit to the palace of Isola Bella my attention was caught by these armours:

I was attending a guided tour to Boncompagni-Corcos Palace here in Rome, and looking at the ceiling decorations I couldn't help to spot this:What is doing Nobunaga's crest there? Ahahah!

Nagoya Omotenashi Busho-tai @ EXPO 2015

Yesterday was the last day of the Festival of Aichi and Nagoya in Milan (あいち・なごやフェア in ミラノ), an event of the Japanese Pavillion during Expo 2015.
Among various shows to promote the culture and treasures of Aichi prefecture, was the exhibition of the Nagoya Omotenashi Busho-tai (名古屋おもてなし武将隊), the "Promotional Army" of Nagoya featuring the most prominent historical figures of the prefecture, among which was our favourite, Nobunaga!
I was lucky enough to attend the event with a friend, and so are a few pictures of the Devil King & Co.!

A Calligraphy Treat from Romics∼

As usual, this year I attended this comic convention here in Rome where I followed the stand of the Japan Foundation for their workshops.
Today there was a little calligraphy event.
After I ridiculed myself by copying what sounds like a short for my name, I dared to ask the sensei for a selfish request--
