Review of the Nobunaga "Samurai Version" by COOMODEL!

So, let's keep updating a bit this blog, this time with one of my usual figure reviews!
I received this figure early Autumn past year (I think?), sorry I'm talking about it only now--!

This is the figure I told you about time ago, it's been fun buying directly from a Chinese shop through proxy, even if quite unnerving because of the delays... but that's the rule when pursuing such items!

But let's cut the chat short, and let's start with the unboxing!
The box is very simple but still luscious, look at the wooden and leather pattern, and the embossed calligraphy--

These were the contents of the box. For this figure, very few extras, very simple, very demure--
--Which I was quite grateful for, given how much the shipping for these babies is! Also, COOMODEL always include a pedestal in their figures, which is amazing.
Unfortunately this is a picture taken two years after the actual unboxing-- Sorry the trousers of the kamishimo are so ugly, they kept the shape of the pose I left Nobu in all this time-- Originally they were quite neat.

The body of the figure is nothing special-- I found it quite hard to pose, changing hands was a torture, and I was disappointed by the head type-- Head and neck are a whole block here, like those figures from 20 years ago--
I really liked the styling of the clothes, though, the main feature of this figure is its costume, and in this sense it doesn't disappoint.

The extra parts included are very basic, besides the pedestal ♥ two pairs of hands, katana and wakizashi:
These looks nice, yet quite basic. They don't seem to portray specific Nobunaga's weapons.
In my opinion they could at least add the fan, since the original painting featured it...

The figure is just wearing the kamoshimo inspired by the Chokoji portrait, the fabric is light but nice, and look at the pretty pattern--!
This was a pleasant surprise, as it didn't look like this in the promotional images∼!

Speaking of things that bothered me a bit, the sculpting of the head doesn't look quite legit... He doesn't even look Japanese in my opinion--!
I can see that they tried to give him more manly features compared to the original painting yet keeping certain characteristics, like the high nose, little mouth and tiny chin but-- Still too squared. Also the hair is different, I think that a chonmage would have been better than that random ponytail...

Also the footwear feels a bit off..?
I'm aware that waraji looked exactly like this but-- Maybe watching too many dramas biased my common sense, I'm always expecting to see samurai going barefoot or wearing white tabi 😅

In the end a few pictures to show you the general feel of the figure and posability:
--And this is the pose I left him in!

In the end, I'm satisfied with this purchase, even if the quality of the sculpting is not so brilliant, compared to the COOMODEL usual standard-- It really felt like they cared only for the clothes and stuck them on a random body 😅 ...I would love more continuity with the management of the characters: this is Nobunaga, so they should keep the head of their previous Nobunaga figure, instead of doing another one.
