NHK+ × Shibuya "Dousuru Ieyasu" Exhibition Virtual Tour! A few considerations on Nobunaga costumes∼

Ok, I wanted to stop babbling about Dousuru Ieyasu for a bit, but a friend sent me some pics from the exhibition in Shibuya she was attending and that reminded me of the virtual tour available on the official site of NHK+!
So, here are a few considerations about the exhibition with a focus on-- Nobunaga costumes, both in the exhbition and during the series!

The exhibition is quite entertaining, but I would like to show you this, first:
So, character visuals DO exist--! And I'm still waiting for their release on the Twitter account--!!

This said, the main feature of the exhibit are the costumes of Ieyasu and Nobu.
Here's a close up of Nobu's:
I'm somehow amused by the "Spanish style" of that yoroi hitatare. Just the top is enough, with its buttoned vest and the peculiar collar, to make it look like something completely avulsed to Japanese couture, but make sure to appreciate the fabric here (what's that? Chenille?), too, its typical (super-modern) Western manufacture.
Of course Nobunaga back then knew nothing about Westerners and the West, and probably never wore something like that ever, so let's just consider this some visual "poetic licence"...
...A way to show how much Nobunaga was "different" from his contemporaries, in both tastes and "vision".

In the next room there's also this panel featuring some details of the costume design:
The Design Supervision of characters is overviewed by Isao Tsuge, who already collaborated in the making of some interesting production. The most recent is the upcoming movie Kishibe Rohan Doesn't Move (岸辺露伴は動かない), of Jojo's fame.

In this Nobu, the gold, in contrast with black and dark grey, creates an amusing image of solemnity and austerity, with a bit of unexpectedness-- Exactly the feelings that our Nobu trigger in Ieyasu.

Here are a few shots of Nobu wearing those new costumes from the most recent episodes:
Please, note the finesse of the fabric in the last close-up!

--Aah, I would really love some interview with the staff as how it happened with Kirin ga kuru--- But I'm really convinced that eveything would be stored in the guide-book... Let's hope that some interesting bits will be shared online soon, then!
