THE LEGEND & BUTTERFLY historical bits but I got easily distracted by one of my greatest passions-- FOOD!
Looks like
Yaganase Tempura Club is offering a special "Nobunaga Legend Don" during the period of the movie screening in the close-by
CINEX theatre.
This luscious
don, featuring the
tempura of 2 big shrimps, 3 little shrimps, 1
kakiage and 7 pieces of miscellaneous veggies, is arranged to remind the
tenshu of Gifu Castle!
The price is 1560 yen, a reference to the Battle of Okehazama, and it's served only to 5 lucky clients each day!
If you're not lucky enough to try this limited edition item, though, you can opt for the other signature
tendon of the shop, the "Nobunaga Tendon"!
Here the biggest ebi fry, a little monster sporting a lenght of 25 cms, symbolizes Nobunaga, the other two big shrimps are Hideyoshi and Mitsuhide, and the assorted veggies around are the other vassals, symbolizing the warlords of the area...
Aaah, these are the only genuine times when I miss Japan 🤤
